During this past semester, I worked on an alternative controller project titled "Plushie Blaze," where you play as Herb the Plushie dragon, who just wants to burn down the food-inspired plushie countryside and eat as much as he can.
I joined this team initially as a concept artist, but quickly moved to being an environment artist as we were shorthanded in that department. We developed a system for texture setup to simulate the puffs, lumps, seams, and textures of our plushie environment, making an open-world space filled with food-based plushie buildings. We wanted the world to carry an aspect of whimsy and child-like toy worldbuilding.
